WHY DO WE MOVE?
Exercise is a critical part of a healthy lifestyle. Exercise decreases a person's risk of developing certain diseases, including type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. These diseases, which used to be found mostly in adults, are becoming more common in teens.
Lesson of the Week We are in week 2 of our fitness unit. We left off with a lesson on Flexibility, which is one of the 5 Components of Fitness. This week, we will move to Cardiovascular Endurance. We will learn how to calculate our maximum heart rates, how to check our heart rates, about different heart rate zones, and how to get our heart rates into those zones. I look forward to taking this journey with you.
